Thursday, June 15, 1933. San Metao. David is one of the best babys I have ever seen. Mary is not nursing him and feeds him every four hr. in his formula is milk veg cerial & fruit he is well nourished has sun bath and exercises, & bath every day is trained well. About 10 this morning Dr Mary & I started for a trip across the Bay took her Ford feryed across to Sausalito drove around the Bay to San Quinton Prison crossed Bay on fery to East side of Bay. Had a delightful ride down to Berkley where we went over campus of university took lunch at U xxx then on to Oakland down South to San Metao Bridge and home at seven P.M. another wonderful day. Friday, June 16, 1933. Weathers cool. June 15 continued. We visited some of the old missions at carmel they were very interesting. The Seventeen mi Drive was rather disappointing. Visited Del Monte Hotel. Mary has drive 280 mi today so is very tired tonight. June 16. Dr and Taylor went into San Francisco early Mary and I drove in about nine to do shopping mine consisted of a silver platter for Marjorie Brewers wedding present. Mary bought hat & 3 dresses. I enjoyed seeing the wonderful shops & stores. We met Dr & Taylor and had dinner at the Saint Francis. Junior called over phone is sick so we pack to go home.
