Sunday, September 3, 1933. Zion City. Left Zion City at ten oclock AM had very reasonable rooms last nite and rested well. Oscar was out early learning all he could of Zion City. Our ride along Lake Mich up thro Wisconsen has been very enjoyable. We had lunch at Waukegan. Passed throu Milwaukee. After a long ride we stopped over nite at a farm house on shore of Green Bay it being late we were unable to get dinner so we took our lunch box down on the beach & made a large bon Fire & enjoyed our meal and the beautiful lake, moon etc very much. Especially did Janath & Carol have a good time. Janath went out on an old pier and composed these lines by moon light. Monday, September 4, 1933. We did not start very early and then drove to Escnobe. The streets here are very wide much like our Utah streets. A school friend of Myrenes live here. We drove by noon to Sault Sainte Marie and had lunch here. Oscar called to see his cousin & family here. We also enjoyed seeing the Locks here where the large Steamers are transfered from one lake to another. From here we went to Saint Ignace where we ferryed the car over and drove on to Petoske where we stayed over nite at a nice place on the Lake Mich. Have seen Lake Huron also Straight of Mackina. Retire late after driving an hr or more after dark.
