Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

OCR Text	Show Saturday, April 9, 1955 My 87th birthday and I am greatly blessed and feeling fine. Mary came from Palo Alto last Monday and is here. This evening we had Family dinner at home and all our children here except Thair and Avon. Lucile Myras Sister and her Husband Dr Heber Hancock here for dinner and Grandchildren and friends called later for refreshments nice time Jefferson Medical College Alumni sent flowers and other flowers and presents received I am greatly blessed and appreciate the love of our Family and friends all have nice sociable time Sunday, April 10, 1955 Stake Conference, but I do not go because of bandage over left eye Dr Jr takes his Family and Mary and myself up to Maddocks for nice dinner Oertel went to Salt lake with Robert and Wife Oertels Robert Oertel & Mary tired from last nights party Rained a little this p.m. but very nice and clear this a.m. Talked over phone last eveng with Thair and Ralph Hardy family in Wash DC and Cleone and Royal Eccles in Phoenix Arizona Monday, April 11, 1955 Dr Jr took Mary & Nancy and his wife Blanch and myself to Salt Lake. The women to go to San Francisco. Mary & Nancy home to Palo Alto. I saw Dr about my eye and he took all bandans off and said eye is fine. Will get glasses on May 2nd Little stormy today and quite cold 36 degrees this morng 46 degrees p.m. Recd 2 cards from Cleone & Royal and a letter from Ollie Cozzens Retire early quite tired. Arbor day So glad to have such a nice visit with Mary & Nancy Tuesday, April 12, 1955 Nice day. I have been home all day except little walk with Bro Parke. Have read some. Myrene came over and brought some food and had lunch with me dear girl. Recd note from Royal Eccles. Recd note of wonderful hope from Royal & Cleone Eccles shipped from Florida good Have read some and wrote two letters. My eye is doing fine. Oertel has Wendy his grand daughter here with her for the night dear little girl
