This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show COL. THAIR C. RICH New Army Assignment Col. Thair Rich Put in Charge Of Army Hospital Col. Thair C. Rich, son of Dr. Edward Rich, 2624 Taylor Ave., recently assumed duties as post surgeon and commanding officer of the U. S. Army Hospital at Ft. Bragg, N. C. Col. Rich, whose wife, Margaret, is with him at Ft. Bragg, was last stationed in Washington, D. C., where he was assigned to the Office of the Surgeon General. A veteran of World War II, he was graduated from the Universities of Utah and Pennsylvania before receiving his commission in the regular Army Medical Corps in July, 1934. Col. Rich did post graduate work at Johns Hopkins University and received his Master of Public Health degree in 1948. |
