Deseret News June 17 1955 CBS Gets a Good Man In their impatience to climb to the peak, young people often become fainthearted when they see only white headed and for them ancient men in the positions of great influence. But Utahs youth can point to one of their very own, one whom most of them know well, as an example of a successful young man Ralph W. Hardy who was elected a vice president of the Columbia Broadcasting System today. Into his 39 years, Ralph has crammed a life time of service. He has risen in less than two decades from his first employment at Radio Station KSL to vice president of that company, followed by becoming a director and then vice president of the National Association of Radio and Television Broadcasters in Washington, D.C. As a vice president for CBS, he will direct the organizations Washington operations. Not long after his return from an LDS mission to England, young Ralph Hardy became the youngest bishop in the Church. After six years there, he became an assistant in the General Superintendency of the Young Mens MIA, and is now a member of the MIA General Board. His service record in civic affairs is long, too, and includes activity in many national and international associations. Like all American youth, Ralph has inherited opportunities such as the world has never known before. And like all youth should, he has measured up to the many responsibilities which have been his by his work, his faith, his integrity, his optimism, and his loyalty to correct principles. In his newest assignment in the world of successful men, Ralph Hardy has the congratulations and the best wishes of every boy and girl in the state and in the Church and of their parents, too.
