Sunday, February 13, 1955 Sociology Expert Readies Lecture on Polygamy Utahns will have an opportunity to hear Dr. Kimball Young, prominent Utah born sociologist and author, review his own recent study of polygamy, Isnt One Wife Enough? Thursday at 815 p.m. in Kingsbury Hall. This public lecture is under the auspices of the University of Utah department of sociology and Extension Division. Quoting a review from one New York critic Kimball Young is ideally qualified to write this volume. A grandson of Brigham Young, he knows from a family recollections what it was like to live in a polygamous household. A distinguished social scientist and professor of sociology at Northwestern University, he commands the techniques and writes with the objectivity of the scholar. A native of Provo, Dr. Young graduated from the Brigham Young University, obtained his M.A. from the University of Chicago, and his Ph.D. from Standford University. He served on the faculties of the University of Oregon, Clark University, University of Wisconsin, and Queens College before attaining his present position as chairman of the Department of Sociology at Northwestern. Author of several books in the field of sociology, he is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Social Psychology and American Journal of Sociology, and contributes extensively to professional journals. Dr. Youngs daughter, Mrs. R.D. Willey, is a resident of Salt Lake City.
