During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Salt Lake Tribune April 15 55 Catholic Teaching Suspended By Peron in Public Schools New York News Service BUENOS AIRES, April 14 Argentina Thursday celebrated Pan American Day by suspending the teaching of Roman Catholic religion and morals in the public schools and by announcing that an arch of triumph would be built to honor President Juan Peron. The supension of religious teaching was announced by the Ministry of Education and was the latest action in a 5 month old controversy between Peron and Catholic authorities. The arch of triumph will be built by Buenos Aires Province in its capital, Eva Peron, itself rechristened for the late glamorous first lady. The structure, which will be built in old Roman style, but larger, will rise 87 feet above the base, 148 by 180 feet. Before it is finished in 1957 it will require 5,000 tons of carrara marble, most of which will be worked into 68 bas reliefs and statues. |
