The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show We Happy People Dr. George Gallup, leading public opinion poll taker, corroborates what we have long believed The happiest people in the United States are those who are religious and those who live within sight of mountains. The correlation was discovered by Dr. Gallup in a public opinion poll during World War II, he reported recently. Dr. Gallups pollsters determined how happy people were by asking some 50 questions about satisfactions with various phases of life. Religiousness was determined through a series of questions about church membership, dependence on faith and church attendance. All of which is good reading. We not only live in sight of mountains, we live among some of the handsomest and most inspiring mountains. And we have a great deal of religion in our mountain valleys, and very little if any communism. Change that frown into a smile. We are the happiest people in the country! |
