The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Doctors Invited To Hear Pope Trib Dec 27 55 Reuters News Agency VATICAN CITY, Dec. 26 Catholic authorities here Monday invited doctors and gynecologists from all over the world to Rome Jan. 8 to hear Pope Pius XII make a speech of fundamental importance on the problem of painless birth. The invitation was issued by the Italian Institute of Genetics in the name of the International Association of Catholic doctors. It was signed by Prof. Luigi Gedda, president of Italian Catholic action and an internationally known expert on the genetic aspects of twins. The invitation said all doctors who came to Rome on Jan. 8 would be admitted to the audience in the Vatican Palace at which the Pope will make his statement. The Pontiff, who in October 1951 raised a storm of controversy in predominantly protestant countries with a speech condemning any form of abortion, even in order to save the mothers life, has not yet given a major ruling on painless birth, the use of pain killing anaesthetics on a mother in labor. |
