Show INTRODUCTORY The twelfth revised edition of R. L. Polk and Co.'s Ogden City and Subur¬ban Directory is presented herewith, and the publishers are confident it will meet with the same general approval which has characterized previous editions of this well established publication. All the information contained herein has been secured from reliable sources, and the entire City of Ogden, as well as the outlying districts and suburban towns, have been carefully canvassed by men who are experienced in this particular line of business. The Street and Avenue Guide of the City of Ogden will be found on pages 15 to 24. This is followed by the Department of Miscellaneous Inform¬ation (pages 25 to 52). This department contains a vast amount of informa¬tion, such as Ogden City, Weber County, and Utah State Officials, as well as United States Officers located in Utah; Utah State and United States Courts, Post Office Information, Rates of Postage, Banks, Cemeteries, Churches, Clubs and Societies, Colleges and Schools, Hospitals, Musical Organizations, Newspapers, Public Buildings, Halls, etc. Railroads, Secret and Benevolent Organizations, Trades and Labor Assemblies, Wards and Boundaries, etc., etc. The alphabetical list of names will be found on pages 54 to 638 inclusive. The Classified Business Directory begins on page 640 and ends on page 700. There are 14,760 individual names in this edition of the Directory. Using the very low multiple of 2 1/4 (to represent the names of women and children not included in the directory list), a population of 33,210 is indicated. The publishers desire to call attention to the fact that the section embraced in this calculation is not confined to the corporate limits of the City of Ogden, but includes the surrounding contiguous territory, which, by reason of its situa¬tion and the employment of its residents, is as much identified with and part of the City as though it was within the corporate limits. When this fact is taken into consideration our estimate may be regarded as being very con¬servative. R. L. POLK and CO., PUBLISHERS. General Offices 617-620 Dooly Bldg., Salt Lake City. R. L.
