Show Wednesday June 10th Breakfast in bed ac general debility. Got up our own early lunch. Nan & I to Dr Staggs & got feet fixed. To Sears to look at toasters. Bought none & went on up to Bon Marche. Saw Nan & son to Paul at Savons & Nan went with him to the place where he works. (Save Os) & bought a Sunbeam roaster Went with Nan when she drove out to see a sick friend. Mrs. Boswell & so home & got a little supper with roast from our new toaster Rubys pm out she did not get home until 1030 after spending the pm with Harold. While waiting in Dr Staggs office. I wrote a letter to Elizabeth & we sent it by air mail. Had a card from Rosabelle. She said So weve been to the fair no comment It has been a fairly fine day & we were glad to get out for a ride. We have had quite a little work done on our garden Checkers in eve. I managed to beat Nan two out of five games. Thursday June 11th A fine day all day. Martha came to see her cleaning. Nan got chicken pies for our lunch After we went to a brunch at Gene Ellises (Nan & I) So glad I went & met so many nice friends. They seemed glad to see me too & I felt repaid for the trouble if going. Got more cards from Stuart Williamsburg, Va. She is very faithful. Edith Smith died last night. This our interviewed Mr. Harriette Gater re coming to work for us. Decision later I had a talk with Tom Barker for whom she works in the office part time Nan & I took Martha home at 5. Ada called in before that to talk about Mrs. Smiths funeral Margaret (DeVries) came to show the R Kings baby which she is tending during absence of parents. Nan brot me home after the trip with Mary then went to spend the eve |
