Mon 27 Continued Did a little walking around. A fine day. Ocean lovely as usual. Reading Churchill in room til bed time. Nan telling stories of her Tuesday 28 Breakfast at hotel. Sent cards to Peggy, Norma and Blanche. Spent time looking at the ocean and Reading Churchill. Edith with us we walked down 3 blocks & had lunch at Brandons just so so Walked back on other side of street. Bought a beautiful pin at a small jewelry store. Called in dress stores & looked thru a large picture selling place. Dozens maybe hundreds of pictures by local artists. Supper in our room. Lots of fog tonight. Wednesday 29 Packed up had breakfast Went out to get a last view of the ocean. Nan read some of the Churchill book. Had lunch at hotel Wednesday 29 Cont. and waited for Dee. He came at 230. We loaded up & started for Los Angeles. A little fog, but we got along OK. Ar. Beverley Wilshire hotel 530 pm. Nice rooms to give us good rest. Took Dee & Edith for dinner at hotel terrace room. A fairly good meal in a very large & beautiful setting. To bed soon after Dee left. Thursday 30 I was quite duncy all day. Nan & Edith did some shopping around. I with them to Haggertys just to look. I back to room with radio & resting. We had lunch at the hotel. After their trip out. Nan Edith & I had fruit & milk in room. Dee came & took us one of his wonderful drives thru Los Angeles & Hollywood, Xmas decorations are up. To bed after & reading of the Churchill book. A little rain in am. Nice & clear by eve.
