Show 132 In addition to performance opportunities at Weber State, theatre majors are encouraged to seek summer employment in stock or repertory companies relating to their interests. The Utah Musical Theatre UMT provides the focal point for exciting summer musical theatre in northern Utah. UMT is a semiprofessional summer company drawing national theatre artists, with paid positions open for staff, crew, and cast. Faculty, staff and student participants are selected by audition and application. Musical Theatre Major USUI BACHELOR DEGREE (B.S. OR B.A.) » Program Prerequisite: Complete the required pre-major core courses listed under Course Requirements below with a grade of "C" or better. » Minor: Not required. » Grade Requirements: A grade of "C" or better in courses required for this major (a grade of "C-" is not acceptable) in addition to an overall GPA of 2.00 or better. » Credit Hour Requirements: A total of 120 credit hours is required for graduation — 65 of these are required within the major. A total of 40 upper division credit hours is required (courses numbered 3000 and above) — a minimum of 19 of these is required within the major. Students are expected to attend theatre performances outside of regularly scheduled class time. CA1023. Introduction to Film Studies (3) Examination and analysis of film and film techniques.
