Also refer to the general grade requirements for graduation on page 35 of this catalog. » Credit Hour Requirements: A total of 122 credit hours is required for graduation — a minimum of 74 of these are required within the major. A total of 40 upper division credit hours is required (courses numbered 300 and above) — 27-33 of these are available within the major (dependent upon the emphasis). Advisement All Art majors and minors must interview with the department chair/advisor early on in their course of study. Call the Department of Visual Arts at 801-626-6455 for more information or to schedule and appointment. Admission Requirements Declare your program of study (refer to page 18 of this catalog). Once the Foundation and Core have been completed, students can apply for the BFA portfolio review. This is held three times a year and is performed by the visual arts faculty. Information regarding the review is available in the visual arts office (Collett Art Building, Rm. 104). If not admitted to the program, students may reapply for review. After admittance, students plan their studio elective classes with the department chair and a faculty member from their emphasis area. General Education Refer to pages 35-39 of this catalog for Bachelor of Fine Arts requirements.
