Show Tuesday 9 Blizzards in east and south. Sun shining here. Hot weather in California. Mrs. Davis came to get my old style bathing suit for a party. We had a nice visit. Reading Sense & Sensibility. Phoned various friends. In pm to town with Nan & got shoes at Wickers Wind started in eve and continued thru night. Wednesday 10 Reports of fierce storms over most of the country. Temp to 50 degrees below 0 in some places. 8 degrees above at our thermometer took up the job of looking over Christmas cards with my close seeing glasses & got a dizzy headache. Nan busy cleaning. Very cold weather. We did not go out at all. Mary Goodman & daughter Shauna came to get concert tickets. Reading Sense & Sensibility picturing a very different era from our own. Some checker playing eve. Thursday 11 Got word early this am of birth of Bettys baby, a girl weight still 5 lb 10 oz Cold 10 degrees above 0. Nans pm out I reading & phoning. Called Diana Thatcher who came home Tuesday. Nan home 2 pm & we had supper before she went to Marys for a baby shower for Betty Marie came & we had a long session with accounts & bills Heard Heard President Kenneys address again. I enjoyed & approved it Friday Very late getting up. Seem to have a cold. hospital to see Betty & the baby all well with them A quiet eve at home. |
