Show 22 Student Affairs, Services and Information I he departments and programs in Student Affairs provide services which assist students in meeting their psychological, sociological and academic needs. The goal of Student Affairs is a commitment to solving student problems and helping students become aware of services, activities and programs available to them. The personnel in Student Affairs will assist in designing, developing, implementing and evaluating programs to expand the students' personal development and enrich co-curricular opportunities. This office provides leadership in administering a comprehensive range of programs and services. More specifically, the departments and programs reporting to the Dean of Students include: Services for Multicultural Students, Services for Students with Disabilities, Services for Women Students and Services for International Students. In addition, the Dean of Students has responsibility for the Associated Students of Weber State University (ASWSU) and related student government activities. Increasing efforts to provide students at the Davis Campus with services and programs provided by Student Affairs also comes under the purview of this office. The Dean of Students is responsible for student judicial affairs. The bookstore sells educational materials and supplies needed for class work at Weber State University. Trade books, art supplies, calculators, clothing and many other items are also available. Computers and software are available to students at discounted prices. Bookstores are located on the Ogden and Davis campus locations to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff. Many professors communicate with their students by e- mail, so it is important for students to activate their accounts early on. This can be done via the Computing Support Services Web page at http://www.css.weber.edu/ (visit any of the computer labs listed below to access the Internet). Computer Labs Student Computer Labs are distributed around the campus and are under the charge of various departments. In addition, Academic Computing manages the computer labs described next: Building II Computer Lab (Bldg 2, Room 211) The computer lab in Building II has 33 Windows 3.0 stations, 6 Windows 95 stations, a laserjet printer and scanner. Hours: M-F 7:30 AM -2:30 PM Tues & Thurs 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Sat 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM Education MAC (ED 15) The MAC Lab in the education building has 43 MAC workstations. A music lab with Finale is located in this lab. Hours: Hours vary - will be posted. Learning Support Computer Lab (SU 310) Hours: M-Th 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM Fri 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM Sat 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Library (Stewart Library, lower level) The Library Learning Center has media services, a reserve desk, 9 DOS workstations, 3 MAC workstations, and an HP laser printer in the computer lab. Hours: M-Th 7:30 AM -12:00 MID F 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM Sat 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Sun 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Math Computer Lab (Bldg 4, Room 505) Software includes Mathematica, Wordperfect, Cabri, and Logowriter. Harware includes NeXT and DOS. Hours: M-Th 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM F 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM Natural Science (SL 228) The Natural Science Learning Center has testing facilities, tutoring services, a reserve center, and a computer lab. The reserve center makes available to students the checkout of sample exams, textbooks, and reading materials. The computer lab has 25 DOS workstations. Hours: M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Social Science (SS 040 & SS 015) The Social Science learning center has a testing center, tutoring services, a computer lab with 52 DOS workstations, and a classroom with 28 DOS workstations. Hours: Hours vary - will be posted. WattisLab (WB 203/205) The Wattis Computer Lab has 38 DOS workstations. The lab is equipped with an HP Laser 4SI/MX printer, and a copy machine. Hours: Hours vary - will be posted. Dining Services Location: Student Union, Room 336 Telephone: 801-626-6087 Director: Cal Roper Weber State University's Dining Services offers a variety of dining alternatives for students, staff and faculty on campus. Catering services are also available. The Junction Food Court, located on the lower level of the Shepherd Union Building, includes Chick Fil-A, Oscar Mayer and the Bagel Basket. On the east side of the building is Wildcat Corner, Pretzel Maker and Squeezers, a fresh juice format. In the Gallery, located on the third level, the dining options include: Pizza Hut Express, Firehouse Grill, Subway, Specialty Plus, the Main Event and Carlos Peppers. On the fourth level, the Skyroom offers a panoramic view and a fine dining restaurant atmosphere.
