Show Saturday July 4 Independence Day & we decided to show our independence by staying at home while the highways & roads are terribly crowded. By 8 pm 227 deaths on the highway. Nan got us a nice lunch 4 pm In later pm we went for a ride on back roads & found a shady place in Kanesville & stopped & read some poetry. Home in the evening shadows. 12 noon Dee & Edith came over right in the midst of an interesting ball game (Yankee 6 Twins 4) which I regretfully missed. Sunday, July 5 We are on our own now so had rather a late breakfast and Nan fixed up after. I spent am with a good ball game. Yankees vs Twins Yankees won in the 8th We spent time reading & checkers until 4 pm when we went to Graycliff taking Dee and Edith with us. A good meal cheerfully partaken of. Nan after dinner took us for a long ride out North Ogden way to show Dee hospitality such as he showed us in Calif. Home at 8 pm. Days are nice and long now. Some phone calls and checkers & reading & early to bed. Did not have a very restful night. |
