Show Vocational & Technical Education Board of Regents, Administrative Officers Professional Development Programs Professional Development Programs include educational seminars, workshops, short courses and conferences to enhance career skills. These may include supervision and management expertise, technical skills, career success skills or other related topics. Specific programs include Allied Health and Nursing courses, Correction and Law Enforcement Academy, and Small Business Development Seminars. Special Interest Programs Special interest programs are designed at the request of the community, faculty and students. Current programs include an annual Summer Day Camp for children ages 6-12 years, winter outdoor sports, a homework center for elementary school children, and week-long camps and institutes for high school aged youths. VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION Director: Paul G. Butterfield Location: Administration Building, Room 304 Telephone Contact: Margaret Andersen 626-6067 Vocational and Technical Education includes those vocational programs of less than a baccalureate degree. The Office of Vocational and Technical Education provides the following functions: 1. A link between the College and employers, agencies and citizens through a representative vocational advisory council. 2. Exploration of new program possibilities with the schools of the College to develop training programs for clients who wish to develop employable skills and attitudes which are compatible with job opportunities in business and industry in the local area and in the state. 3. A link between the College and staffs of the State Board for Vocational Education and the Slate Board of Regents for statistical and fiscal reporting and program information. 4.
