Show Tabernacle Square Relic Hall to Open PIONEER CLOTHING at the Daughters of Utah Pioneers museum in Tabernacle Park is being shown by Mrs. William Waterstradt, supervisor of the museum. New clothing items and pioneer furniture will be on display during the summer. VISITORS INVITED June 7 is the opening day for the relic hall in Tabernacle Square. The Daughters of Utah Pio¬neers operate the museum. It will be open Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tourists are invited to visit the museum. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Mem¬bers of the DUP will be host¬esses each afternoon. NEWLY PAINTED Mrs. William Waterstradt, who directs the museum, said the place has been given a thorough cleaning and the dis¬play room is newly painted. The displays in the relic hall feature pioneer furniture, cloth¬ing, musical instruments and pictures. Other custodians are Mrs. Melba Arave of the West Company DUP, Mrs. L. J. Thomas of the South Company and Mrs. Sarah White of the North Company. The Miles Goodyear cabin, built of cottonwood logs in 1841, is the first white man's structure in Utah. During the fall and winter months the museum is open by appointment. Special tours are arranged for groups of students from the area. |
