MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE CITY COUNCIL REPORT FOR APRIL 2005 By Joyce VanTassell Planning Commission considers Mill Creek Subdivision The Planning Commission met on April 13 and discussed the mediation report for the proposed Mill Creek Subdivision. The mediation group addressed five issues; they worked out how the subdivision would get secondary water, details about sewer service, additional access, separating land uses from neighbors and what codes, covenants and restrictions would be used for the subdivision. The duties of the architectural review committee were discussed, wherein this three-member board would review plans for homeowners' proposed homes. Public comment was taken, with one neighbor saying, "I'd like to thank the developers for their willingness to meet with the neighbors" and work out the concerns. Final approval for the Mill Creek Subdivision, located at 2000 W. and 200 S., was recommended unanimously by the commission with conditions. Marriott-Slaterville City Council discusses budget amendments The city council met and approved business licenses for four businesses Mishelle Stott Graphic Design, Velocity Paintball, Hamblin & Son Yard Care and Real Estate Exchange. The council next discussed amending the budget to address the funds needed for the new city building and senior center. They adopted a tentative budget and set public hearings for April 21 concerning these matters. Preliminary and final approval was given for the Marriott-Slaterville business park, which will have room for seven businesses. Plans were reviewed for the city building and senior center, with plans for ground breaking in early April. Among other plans, a cultured rock finish was discussed, which would give the building a rustic pioneer look. Weber Sentinel 28 |
