RICH REUNION MEETS AUGUST 4 IN PARIS After nearly twenty years, the Charles C. Rich Family returns to Paris, Idaho for their family reunion on the tabernacle square at Paris. The monument of Apostle Rich was erected and dedicated by the family and leading L.D.S. Church officials on August 22, 1937. The tabernacle square now beautified with lawns and trees will greet the Riches far and wide and will bring back memories to many of one of the first reunions held in 1909 when the first large family picture was taken. At that time President Heber J. Grant, who was then an Apostle, and Apostle John Henry Smith were in attendance, also President William Budge of Bear Lake Stake and Ben E. Rich, then President of the Southern States Mission. The Charles C. Rich Family has over 3,000 members with more than 2,000 direct descendants of Charles C. Rich and his six wives. This year the family is to honor Dr. Edward I. Rich of Ogden, Utah, who is the only survivor of the fifty children of Apostle Rich. President and Mrs. David O. McKay are expected to be present. President McKay will give the main address at the tabernacle at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The family invited the public to attend. President Burdett Pugmire of the Bear Lake Stake has notified the wards and communities of this special feature. Elder and Mrs. Alma Some, Senator A.V. Watkins and Attorney Roland Rich Woolley of Los Angeles are also expected to be present. Registration will begin on the tabernacle grounds at 1 p.m. Following the meeting the family picture will be taken and a barbequed-beef dinner will be served to members of the family. The old homes and landmarks will be visited and the day’s activities will close with a business meeting and a campfire program on the square in the evening. Dr. Edward I. Rich of Ogden, now 88 years of age, is President of the Family Association. Other officers are: Lyman H.
