Show August 10 Friday Nice day. I have been home all day day until this evening I went down town with Cleone and this evening at 7 p.m. Cleone went with me to a High Priests banquet at the 43rd ward. The 43rd ward High Priests over last’s to the enters High Priests of the East Ogden Stake A fine banquet and meeting after Jude David J Wilson and Wife were the main speakers. Geo Frost and daughter served several soups. Splendid affair this whout. Large attendance. Nice dinner I wrote to D Charles R. Smart at Philadelphia. Aug 12 56 Ruth Budge Riter Mrs. Ruth Budge Riter, 44, 685 Aloha Rd., died Saturday morning after an illness of some months. Her husband, Dr. Kersey C. Riter, died July 23. Mrs. Riter was born in Logan, a daughter of Dr. David C. and Olive Retta Bowen Budge. Surviving is a son, Samuel David Riter, Ft. Ord, 260 E. South Temple, where friends may call Tuesday after 1 p.m. Burial, Salt Lake City Cemetery. 11-12 Sat.-Sun. Obituaries Aug 12 - 56 George L. Phelps George L. Phelps, 69, 1533 S. 8th West, died Friday 4:30 a.m. in Salt Lake hospital after long illness. Born May 28, 1887, Montpelier, Idaho, to Joseph M. and Margaret Hunter Phelps. Married Reta West June 2, 1917, Ogden, Employed by Denver and Rio Grande Railroad Co. until accident caused 1944 retirement. Cannon LDS Ward member. Survivors: widow; son, George A.; daughter, Margaret Ruth, Salt Lake City; brothers, J. Smith, Ogden: William O., Montpelier; Heber J., Ovid, Idaho; sisters, Mrs. Mary A. Had nice dinner at Dr Jr’s & Blanches In afternoon visited Jae Fuller and his wife He is very sick - helpless and has been for 7 yrs and she has rheumatism and sick - Visited Cemetery, also called on Mr & Mrs Archie McFarland - old friends. This evening Royal & Cleone and Dr Fred Matthies & Claire called I have been lonesome this afternoon - thinking of Myra |
