Tribune Dec 9 - 56 4B Ralph W. Hardy...Native of Salt Lake to return for talk. CBS Official, Ex-Utahn, Sets S.L. Talk Ralph W. Hardy, former Salt Lake radio man and now a vice president of Columbia Broadcasting Co., will address a joint meeting of 34 Lions Clubs in the Salt Lake Valley Thursday noon in the Hotel Utah. CONFIRMATION that Mr. Hardy will speak in Salt Lake City came Saturday from Hong Kong, China, where Mr. Hardy stopped during a flying round-the-world meeting of UNESCO, to which he is an official American delegate appointed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. In his Salt Lake talk, Mr. Hardy will discuss UNESCO activities and its activities in times of world unrest. Mr. Hardy is a native of Utah and was connected with radio station KSL until 1950. That year he moved to Washington, D.C., where he still resides, to become director of the American Association of Broadcasters. In 1955 he accepted the position with CBS. He and his wife toured both European and Asian nations during the trip. In many places they consulted with UNESCO representatives concerning the work of that United Nations organization.
