Wrote to Avon and June Recd card from Clarence Rich and he is Ogden Standard Nov 14 - 58 Former Ogden Woman Dramatist Dies at 69 SALT LAKE CITY - Mrs. Bertha Eccles Wright Thomstorff, 69, of Salt Lake City, prominent in Utah drama circles, died here Monday. She founded the Ogden Community Little Theater, taught dramatic art at Weber College and had been active in directing theater groups in Utah and Los Angeles. She was a charter member of the Ogden Drama Club. She was born Jan. 22 1887, in Ogden, a daughter of David C. and Bertha Jensen Eccles. Mr. Eccles was a pioneer Utah industrialist. She attended Utah State Agricultural College and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. STUDIED IN GERMANY She studied dramatic art and speech at Berlin, Germany, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and at the Pasadena Community Playhouse in California. Between 1933 and 1945, she lived in Los Angeles. In 1946 she moved to Ogden for a year, then made her home in Salt Lake City. In 1908 she was married to William Arthur Wright in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. Mr. Wright died in Berlin, Germany, in 1932 while serving an LDS Mission. She was married to Joseph F. Thomstorff in Salt Lake City in 1938. He died in 1955. Active in the LDS Church, she served as president of the Relief Society of the Wilshire Ward in Los Angeles. Surviving are two sons and five daughters, Mrs. Grant J. (Vida) Wright, Salt Lake City; David E. Wright, Madrid, Spain; Mrs. Ray (Janith) Cresap, Spokane; Karran E. Wright, Los Angeles; Mrs. G. Kirk (Patricia) Graff, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Robert M. (Vivian) Brinton, El Monte, Calif.; Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Rudd, Salt Lake City; 34 grand children, six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are the follow RITE ON FRIDAY Founded Little Theater ing brothers and sisters: Royal Eccles, Ogden; Mrs. Lila Eccles Brimhall, Salt Lake City; Jack Eccles, Hood River, Ore.; Homer Eccles, Portland; Mrs. Laura Romney, Los Angeles; and Mrs. Orson Douglas, California; Mariner S. Eccles, George S. Eccles, Mrs. Joseph Quinney, Mrs. Walter Treadwell, Mrs. Em E. Jones and Mrs. Hugh Harrison, all of Salt Lake City; Mrs. George Caine, Logan; Spencer and Willard Eccles, both of Ogden. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at noon in the LDS Grandview Ward, 2930 S. 20th East St., Bishop O. E. Aylett officiating. J. Reuben Clark of the First Presidency of the LDS Church will be the principal speaker. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. So. Temple St., tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Ogden City Cemetery Friday at 3 p.m. November 15 Thursday Colder last night 26o I have a cold and dont feel too well to day, Have been home until afternoon and then went out and took examination for drivers license for auto, and got along O.K.
