14A THE OGDEN STANDARD-EXAMINER OGDEN, UTAH, WEDNESDAY EVENING, APRIL 11, 1956 Dancers From Mexico Perform Here Saturday A colorful stage spectacle, “Fiesta Mexicana,” will be presented Saturday at 8:15 p.m. in the Ogden High School auditorium. Straight from Old Mexico, the presentation is part of the Weber College Lecture and Artists Series. Guy H. Hurst, committee chairman, said the production promises to be one of the most lavid over presented by the college. “The costs involved in staging the show are $2,500.” The Mexican government has assembled its greatest artists of song, dance and stage in this one show which is touring North America as a goodwill gesture, he said. Most of the actual cost of the production is being defrayed by the Republic of Mexico. AUTHENTIC DANCES The program will feature authentic Mexican folk dances, love songs and ballads and native humor. Mr. Hurst said the costumes used in the production are elaborate and many of the individual costumes cost in excess of $300. Tickets for the production are $1 for general admission and 50 cents for students and children. Tickets can be purchased at the door prior to the performance that night. College students and lecture series season ticket holders will be admitted on their activity cards. COSTUMED - In a brilliant maroon and gold ranchero outfit, Maria Luisa Zea, a leading dance star of the musical stage spectacle “Fiesta Mexicana” will appear in Ogden Saturday night.
