Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

They were returning from a sorority party at the Balsam Inn, Brighton, when the mishap occurred, apparently at 12:28 a.m. That was the time Miss Olsen’s watch was stopped. The wreckage was discovered 1.6 miles above the Silver Forks store by Mrs. Andrew E. Sugden, 1779-7th East, and her two grandsons, Dennis Sugden, 8, 3309 S. 440 East, and John Craig Smith, 10, 1321-5th East. They were hiking on an old road in the canyon when they spotted the wreckage and the bodies. Mrs. Sugden climbed to the highway and stopped a passing motorist who notified E. V. Glines, manager of the Silver Forks store. He notified the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s office.
