Hopefully, the worst is over. However, if we are entering another wet cycle we will have to become increasing vigilant on flood control. As you know, the new office and senior center is under construction. I am grateful for the residents who have been willing to volunteer there time and talents on this project. If anyone is willing to volunteer time or talents relating to our upcoming auction, to landscaping, or in some other capacity, please contact Becky or Bill at the city office at 627-1919. I look forward to see you the summer activities._ SUMMER ACTIVITIES JUNE 2005 Summer Tennis Lessons. Community Servicesis offering beginning and intermediate group tennis lessons in June. Lessons will be a series of four lessons over two weeks. Cost is $10 per person, or $20 for immediate family up to 4 kids (parents free). Sign-up deadline is June 6. Lessons will be scheduled starting the week of June 12. Registration is available at the city office or from Jim Ito. Payment due upon registration. Additional blocks of lessons available based upon demand. Contact Jim Ito at 731-6777. June 13th (Monday) - An Evening of Music at the Park. Bring your family to the Marriott Park and enjoy music from Ryan Shupe. Socialize with friends and family. No charge for this event. Time: 6:30 p.m. Place: Marriott Park Bring: lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks. JULY 2005 July 1st (Friday) - Seventh Annual Golf Tournament July 2nd (Saturday) - Little Miss Pageant July 4th (Monday) - Freedom Celebration July 18th (Monday) - Am Evening of Music at the Park Bring your family to the Marriott Park and enjoy music from Pizzacato Strings. Socialize with friends and family. No charge for this event. Time: 6:30 p.m. Place: Marriott Park Bring: lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks. AUGUST 2005 August 15th (Monday) - Am Evening of Music at the Park Bring your family to the Marriott Park and enjoy beautiful music, local talent, and socialize with friends and family. No charge for this event. Featuring: Japanese Musical. Time: 6:30 p.m. Place: Marriott Park Bring: lawn chairs, blankets, snacks. _ Planning Commission - June 8, 2005, 7:00 p.m. 1. Call to Order/approve minutes. 2. Work session: zoning ordinance amendments, and Mill Creek Subdivision. 3. One month extension on prior extension until July 30, 2005, for the recording of Town House Estates Phase III Subdivision located at approximately 1045 South 1200 West. 4. Manufacturing site plan application for Ron J. Peterson Construction, at 1100 West 1700 South. 5. Coleman Minor Lot Subdivision at approximately 3385 W. Pioneer Road. 6. Zoning ordinance amendments. 7. Adjourn until July 13, 2005. This agenda is tentative and items can and will change. City Council Agenda - June 16, 2005, 6:30 p.m. 1. Call to Order/approve minutes. 2. New business licenses, if any. 3. Guest Speaker: Cindy Keller, UDOT, I-15 project. 4. Discussion/action on Mill Creek Subdivision. 5. Policies relating to emergency management. 6. Senior center and municipal building. 7. Officers reports and legislative oversight. 8. Adjourn until July 21, 2005. This agenda is tentative and items can and will change. LOCAL UPDATES Road Construction. I-15 will be widened soon. Before this happens, 1900 West will also be temporarily widened to accommodate traffic diverted from the interstate. Prepare for long traffic delays in these areas. Senior Center Auction. With a new senior center, a lot of new equipment and furnishings are needed. An auction will be held July 4th to help raise funds. We ask members of the community to donate items suitable for the auction. Such items may include: quilts, crafts, toys, or other items.
