Show Beloved Pioneer Citizen, Mrs. Jane Foote Dies at Her Home Mrs. Jane Foote, Morgan county's oldest woman died at home Wednesday at 10 a.m. a two months illness. She would have been 94 years Oct. 18. Mrs. Foote was born in 1866 dugout at Echo to Pioneer's swell and Mary Ann Peterson vens. She is the last of eleven children. She married James Patterson Foote, Aug 10, 1889, Park City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Nov. 11, 1899. Left to rear six children against tremendous odds, Mrs. Foote was a wonderful mother and loved by all who knew her. Until the last few months of her life she was active and mentally alert, with a keen sense of humor. Mrs. Foote was Queen of the Morgan Centennial July 1960 sharing honors with Morgan County's oldest male resident, William Smith ,94 They were honored with a number of gifts and sincere good wishes of hundreds during the three-day celebration. Mrs. Foote was a member of the Morgan LDS Ward and active in Relief Society many years. Survivors: son, two daughters, James R. Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. Jean Mecham, Carey, Ida.; Mrs. Margaret Checketts, Morgan; 18 grandchildren; 61 greatgrandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Morgan Stake Tabernacle. Friends may call at the home Friday after 5 p.m. and Saturday prior to the service. Burial will be in the North Morgan Cemetery, directed by Lindquist and Sons Mortuary, Ogden.
