An upper division programming language course (CS 3230, CS 3280, CS 3620, CS 3550, or CS 3030) is recommended. Computer Science Minor Computer Science (Minor or BIS Concentration) • Program Prerequisite: There are no special admission or application requirements for these programs, with the exception of a mandatory placement exam. If a student passes the placement test with a score of 73% or better, then the student may enter these programs beginning with the first course of CS 1400. If the score of 73% is not achieved, then the student must take the CS 1030 TE - Foundations of Computer Science course as a prerequisite to begin course work for these programs. • Grade Requirements: A grade of "C" or better must be earned in all required CS courses (a grade of "C-" is not acceptable). A grade of "C-" or better must be earned in all required support courses. In addition, an overall GPA of 2.70 or higher must be attained for all required courses. • Credit Hour Requirements: 24 hours for the Minor and BIS Concentration, and 22 hours for the Teaching Minor. Students who select the Computer Science Teaching minor must satisfy the Teacher Education admission and licensure requirements (see Department of Teacher Education) and have a teaching major.
