Show Tigers, Warriors, Wildcats Capture League Games SATURDAY EVENING, FEBRUARY 13, 1937. Collegians Run Wild In Contest With Cedar Quint Ogden Tigers Given Man-Sized Scare In Closing Periods of Game With North Cache; Weber Rallied In Final Frame to Nose Out Strong Preston Quint Weber College, Ogden High and Weber High casaba players turned in fine performances last night in league competition. As a result the Ogden machines all turned in victories. Weber college remained in the van of the field in the state Junior College league by taking the measure of Branch Aggies for the second consecutive night, 60 to 31. Ogden High after jumping into an 11 to 2 lead at the opening quarter of their game with North Cache, was hard pressed to eke out a 26 to 23 decision. North Cache trailed 10 to 16 at half time and was on the short end of a 12 to 20 score at the end of the third period. In the final frame North Cache outscored the Tigers 11 to 6. Mark Ballif's Weber High hoop¬sters played inspired basketball at Preston to win over the Idaho league members, 36 to 30. Weber piled up a lead in the first two periods but closed the third period tied with Preston at 22 all. In the last period the War¬riors uncorked a scoring spree that gave them a well deserved victory. The Morris brothers and Bing¬ham tossed buckets in from all parts of the court to give the Wild¬cats an impressive victory over Branch Aggies. The three players amassed a total of 41 points. Chidester was outstanding for the Aggies. Williams and Wayment led the scoring attack for the Ogden High machine. Gutke for North Cache stood out with 16 points. Johnson, Hodson and Childs were high point men for Weber High. Logan High remained deadlocked with Ogden for the northern divi¬sion lead by trimming Bear River, 43 to 19. South Cache was given a scare by Box Elder, the Spartans winning 23 to 19. scores: B. A. C.
