Show Ogden Cagers Get Scare in Speedy Clash North Cache Defeated, 26-23, in Thrilling Battle; Grizzlies Win Ogden high school cagers re¬corded their sixth victory in seven starts Friday night in the Logan-Ogden district race, a victory which enabled it to keep pace with the high scoring Logan quint, but the Tigers were given a real scare be¬fore edging out a 26 to 23 victory over North Cache. Logan toppled Bear River, 43 to 19, as Weber tamed Preston, 36 to 30, and South Cache spilled Box Elder, 23 to 19, in an extra period game. North Cache fought doggedly against the Tigers, but in the last quarter the little team from Rich¬mond succumbed to a highly favored opponent. Logan shelled the hoop in con¬vincing style to remove Bear River as a factor in the 1937 title cam¬paign. Lanky Ed Izatt, the league's leading scorer, tallied 12 points, but his mates passed to him for several setups which aided him in swelling his season's total. South Cache, on the short end of a 9 to 1 score early in the game with Box Elder, trailed at the third quarter 10 to 18. In the third and fourth quarters the Bees failed to score and at the end of the final period the count was 18-all. In the extra quarter the Spartans chalked up five points and the Bees made only one foul pitch. Weber notched up its second vic¬tory and handed Preston a seventh successive setback in taking a thrill¬ing 36 to 30 encounter.
