Their buildings are centuries old the old church in the center of town having been built in 1602 and They have the records of Births, deaths and marriages still intact from that time up to the present. Theres also an old Chateau just out of town thats quite ancient Back at Brest, again Dec. 1st 1918 Well, my hunch was a bum one, as we’re here and to relieve the Marines at the place Looks as if we are stuck here indefinitely Its tough luck but then after all we havent been here as long as some of the poor fellows who have done all this fighting and suffered all the hardships so they have the right to go home first and there’s a good time coming when we’ll all go home so that Ill have to be patient and hope for the best.
