Thursday December 9, 1954. Myrelle Eccles Thomas gave birth to a fine 8.5 pound boy last night at 11 pm. At Dee Hospital. Our great grand son. Our 6 blood decendent. A dear little mother and baby. Her second child both boys. I went down to bank and cashed two bonds 2000. So I can pay for Myras biography etc. Cleone came up. Recd letters from Mary & Thair and Claire Hardy Dr Jr called. I went down to printer to see about xmas cards. Visited Myrelle at hospital. She is fine. We had dinner nice. Friday December 10, 1954. Nice day. I visited Myrelle at the hospital and she and baby are fine. I visited Bro Herbert Penton who recently returned from a mission to England. Recd letter from Charles R. Smart a dear grandson who is studying medicine in Philadelphia. Wrote notes and pictures to several of Myras relatives. No one has called today. Oertel recd a card from Dorothea Patterson from New Zeland to day written just three days before she died of a heart attack sad. Saturday December 11, 1954. Nice day. no storm cloudy. I helped Cleone get her daughter Myrelle and baby from hospital. They are fine. Had dinner at Cleones & Royals. Dr Jr and Blanche called this evening. Adam Patterson arrived via air from New Zealand where his wife died few days ago. The remains of his wife were come via cargo airplane and were not arriving for few days. Very sad. Good people and she died suddenly so far from home. Jay Glasmann and wife Sharlene and children arrived via air from Wash DC this am. Sunday December 12, 1954. Beautiful day. I attended Stake Priesthood meeting at 8 am. Ward priesthood at 9 am Sunday School at 10 am. Ward Sacrament meeting at 5 pm. All good. Oertel went to Salt Lake yesterday afternoon and returned this evening. I had nice dinner at Dr Jrs. I went over to Myrenes to see Jay Glasmann and Sharlene and children this pm but children was asleep and Jay and Sharlene were out. They are here from Washington DC for the holidays.
