Carolyn Young Que SmartSt. Pauls Episcopal Church was the setting Saturday evening for a doublering candlelight ceremony uniting in marriage lovely Miss Carolyn Young and Que Smart. The Rev. Mortimer Chester officiated.The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Young, 1239 Emerson Ave. (1495 South), and the bridegroom, who has been residing in Denver, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Smart, Los Angeles.A garden reception honored the couple at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Tempest Sr., 1619 Orchard Dr. (3635 South St.), aunt and uncle of the bride elect. Baskets of stock and asters decorated the garden.The bride was striking as a portrait in a gown of embroidered taffeta, fashioned with a wide V neck and tracedwith a berthea collar. From a wedding ring waist drifted a bouffant skirt that climaxed in a chapel train. From a crown accented with beads fell a fingertip veil of illusion and she carried white Cecil Bruner roses and carnations.Miss Dorothy Ann Moyle was maid of honor with Miss Zoe Dremann, Miss Marge Carter and Miss Mary Jean Glaeser as bridesmaids. Miss Sydney Lucas was junior bridesmaid. They were gowned in navy taffeta embroidered with pink roses, styled with off the shoulder necklines and butterfly bows in back. They wore pink Juliet caps and mitts and carried nosegays of pink Cecil Bruner roses and carnations.Charles W. Gates was best man while Rich Brewer, William Young and Lynn Scott ushered.Mrs. Que Smart, the former Miss Carolyn Young, before her wedding on Saturday.
