Show Life joys Possible for All Civic Leader, 95, SaysThe purpose of life is to have joy; and joy comes to those who perform well the every day affairs of life.These are the words of Edward B. Clark, who will mark his 95th birthday anniversary Wednesday.Snowy haired Mr. Clark, who will be honored at an open aouse on that day from 3 to 9 p. m. at the residence of a son, Judge Rulon W. Clark of Second District Juvenile Court, 380 Crestline Dr., has a word of advice for young people that their recreation and fun be done in the spirit of kindness and reverence that in their fouth they do nothing to regret fri their old age.Mr. Clark was born April 7, 1859, in Farmington, a son of Ezra T. and Mary Stevenson Clark, He has been active in civic and religious affairs in Davis County all his life.He retired from farming and cattle raising 22 years ago, and has devoted his time to work in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, where he is still active.He served a mission in the Northern states in, 1908 10 and, upon his return, became president of Davis Stake high priests quorum, serving until June 15, 1915. He then served in the South Davis Stake presidency until April, 1937.As a civic leader, Mr. Clark has held many positions, including Davis County treasurer, Commercial Club president, city councilman, justice of the peace and Davis County commissioner.He also has been a director of Davis County Irrigation Co, and of the Federal Land Bank.Besides Judge Clark, he has the following sons and daughters Walter E. and Melvin J. Clark, Georgetown, Ida.; Edward F. Clark and Mrs. Mary C. Ellis, Farmington; Mrs. Rhoda C. Taylor, Colonia Dublan, Mexico; Bryant C. Clark, Colonia Juarez, Mexico, and Mrs. Maurine C. Wiberg, Roy. He has 40 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.Mr. Clark also has seven living brothers and sisters, the youngest 74 and the eldest 100 years of age. They are: Joseph Smith Clark, 100; Wilford Woodruff Clark, 91; Amasa Lyman Clark, 88; Mrs. Sarah C. Knowlton, 86; Mrs. Alice C Steed, 85; Nathan Clark, 79, and Mrs. Laura C. Silver, 74.Edward B.
