Show Angered Housewife Returns To Her Awakened FamilyReuters News AgencyMILFORD, ENGLAND, Sept. 10 Mrs. Winifred Da Costa, 39 year old housewife who left home here Monday because she was taken for granted by her family, went back to her husband and four children Thursday after striking a blow on behalf of unappreciated mothers.Mrs. Da Costa, wife of a wholesale vegetable merchant, did her walkout after her family complained about having to eat margarine when the butter ran out.This was the last straw, she explained to reporters, adding I cooked meals for them at all hours. I sat up late making dresses for the girls. I did all the cleaning and shopping. Mrs. Da Costa went to a hotel at Brighton to see how her family managed without her. But someone recognized her from a newspaper picture as the missing housewife and told the police.Within a few hours her husband was by her side, persuading her to return home. She agreed. |
