The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show In everyones life theres more prose than poetry, but prose can be just as beautiful as poetry. You can scoff at poetry say you wont read it well, take it from me, youre missing a lot. Just for a trial read the following poem, and if you dont feel better afterward, then my philosophy is all wrong. It appeared more than 20 years ago in Parents Magazine,I Am Tied DownI am tied down By clotheslines On which I hang small blueand lemon yellow Rompers.By strings just commonplace White threadsWith which I sew on buttons Mend wee pockets, Patch faded, threadbare little suits.Ropes tie me down,Red jumping ropes andthose that pull Small wooden animals about.
