Admission Requirements Declare your program of study (see Enrollment Services and Information). There are no special admission or application requirements for the Sociology major. Teaching majors must meet the Teacher Education admission and licensure requirements (see Department of Teacher Education). (Also refer to the Department Advisor Referral List.) Sociology Teaching (BS) Sociology (BS) • Program Prerequisite: Not required for the Sociology major. Sociology Teaching majors must meet the Teacher Education admission and licensure requirements (see Department of Teacher Education). • Minor: Required • Grade Requ i re m ents: A minimum grade o f" C" in courses counted toward the major (a grade of "C-" is not acceptable). Also refer to the general grade requirements for graduation. • Credit Hour Requirements: A total of 120 credit hours is required for graduation, of which 40 must be upper division credit hours (courses numbered 3000 and above). A minimum of 36 Sociology credit hours are required for the major. Transfer students who are majoring in Sociology can transfer up to 18 hours from an acceptable Sociology program. Only g of the transferred hours can be lower division.
