South Cache nosed out North Cache 23 to 18 and Logan, favorite to win the division flag, walloped Preston, 60 to 19. After a sensational first period in which the Tigers led 7-6 and a colorful second period, the Bees of Box Elder rallied to give the Orange Streaks something to think about before a near capacity crowd at the Weber gym. The Dick Kapple aggregation held a 13 to 9 lead at the rest period. In the third period the Tigers ran their total to 24 points before the Bees were able to tally. Then the fireworks started. R. Jensen, Johnson and Fishburn hit the net consistently and before the period closed the Bees increased their total to 18 points, holding the Tigers scoreless. As the final period opened buckets by R. Jensen and Johnson placed the Bees within two points of the Tigers. At this juncture the Ogdenites called time out. Halvorsen, Packham and Williams bagged timely goals to again put the Tigers out in front. This trio performed in style under fire. Despite the fact that the squad is green, Coach Dick Kapple promises to make his new squad a contender for divi¬sion honors before the close of the season. Williams, Halvorsen and Packham led the Tiger scoring attack while R. Jensen was outstanding for the Bees. Johnson stood out for Weber High against the Bear River five. M. Maughan for South Cache tal¬lied 12 points. Izatt, Logan forward, however, stole the scoring honors for the initial events.
