Show North Summit, Ogden Capture Hoop Features Tiges Topple South Cache; Score, 34-18 Logan Chalks Up 46-21 Victory Over Weber; Bees, Bear River Win Ogden high school cagers handed South Cache a 34-18 lacing Tuesday evening in the Spartans' own stronghold to establish the Tigers' claims to the Logan-Ogden district title in impressive fashion. In other Tuesday games in the north¬ern circuit, Logan overpowered We¬ber, 46 to 21; Box Elder tripped North Cache, 35 to 20, and Bear River defeated Preston, 36 to 24. Ogden's hopes for a title in the northern league take on a rosy hue following the onesided victory over the Spartans. The Hyrum crew, on the other hand, faces a stiff battle to remain in the running for second or third position. Take Early Lead The Tigers rolled up a 6 to 0 score in the first frame and at the halfway they were leading, 13 to 5. The Tigers boosted their total to 28 in the third quarter, meanwhile lim¬iting the Hyrum crew to five more points. Wayment and Williams, Ogden guards, were the outstanding per¬formers, the former chalking up 10 points, and Williams adding nine to his team's total. Baugh and Seth Maughan, South Cache scoring aces, were held in check throughout the encounter. Morrell, high-scoring guard, bagged 13 points and played a bril¬liant defensive game as Logan kept pace with Ogden in the title race by its easy win over Weber. Griffin, also a guard, notched up nine counters and Ed Izatt, the league's leading scorer, tallied eight points. Box Elder Rallies Box Elder went into the second half of the game with North Cache on the short end of a 12-11 score, but in the third frame the Bees rang up 15 points to the four for the Bull¬dogs and in the final frame they continued their heavy scoring. Bear River packed too much scoring punch for the Preston out¬fit, the quarter scores being 12-5, 20-6 and 32-12. The scores: BOX ELDER G.T.F.P.
