Show letters to relatives and friends ever since, so I guess I ought to get a lot of mail soon. Guess I’ll go up to the “Y” They’ve got some kind of a show on up there tonight, and I’ll write Mother an answer to her letter Monday Aug 19th 1918 Had all Sunday to myself, but it was rather dull day. We couldn’t go out of the quarantine camp. Read a letter from Burt Moubray of the A.L.Co. No mail from the folks except a paper with the names of the bunch going to Camp Lewis on the 26th Lee and my old Gang are going I sure do feel sorry for our dear Mother but she, like father, will be glad we went some day. (5) 8/19-18 Had our second shots in the arm today, and I understand we move tomorrow I sure hope so I’m tired of the quarantine Camp. I’d like to have a shorthand from shorthand hasn’t shorthand I guess, as I shorthand Wednesday shorthand Thursday Aug 20th 1918 Have been sick all day today (Grippe). Drilled this morning and had to fall out and rest so I didn’t go this afternoon. Bramwell was sick the same as I Went to a ball game tonight between Camp Lewis’ team and the Eight Division team from Fremont. Our team won 9 to 8. Lots of Utah fellows in Camp now sent here from Camp Lewis Still no mail from home. Wonder why? |
