Show Feb 23rd 1919 Heard last night that the San Fran Examiner says the 62nd is being mustered out at the Presidio. Knocks all my hopes in the head, of going back any time in the near future and I guess its wait till fall for us Got some mail from home last night telling me Lee is now a Corporal Pretty good for him but I got it on all of them as I’m in the A.E.F. Am going down town Tomorrow and will look for mail again Saw Bramwell down town last Monday. Seemed good to see him again. We are to have a feed with Silva tomorrow if all goes well. Wish we were going back to U.S.A. Mar 26th 1919. Havent felt at all like writing for some time, over a month, and think Ill discontinue my Journal as there’s nothing happens to liven up the monotony of this place Gray and Bramwell have both gone home and “Rums” says the Eighth goes next month. Seems too good to be true shorthand April 29th 1919 Guess I’d better make a few notes in my old journal if I’m going to put in anything for April. I had a nice outing down to FrezJohn Sat. night and all day Sunday. Saw several beautiful parks and visited some old ruins of an 11th Century Abbey on the coast Very interesting trip and a change from the monotony of life here at |
