Show Monday Evening, May 22, 1933 Music Adds Sweetness To Service Conducted By Ogden High School Regret Ie Expressed That Bennion Speech Not Fully Recorded Ogden High School Notes Parke Petterson, Editor; Barbara Kimball and Marjorie Wood, Associate Editors The high school music department did itself proud again at our commencement service at the Orpheum theatre Sunday. The various ! numbers were sweet, appropriate, enchanting-in very keeping with the day and the spirit of the day. Dr. Bennion's address was most encouraging and inspiring. It is worthy of publication in its entirety, and would make for seniors a souvenir of rare value. Why didn't some of our stenography experts take it down verbatim and reproduce it for us? NOT FAR TO GO Well, three more days to go, and then the grand finale-commencement exercises Thursday. This marks the end of our high school career! Hereafter, we are to be college men and women, or plain citizens working for a livelihood and the permanence of democratic social state. We leave behind our happy school days and begin again, as it were, a new life. May happiness and success be our common lot. O. H. S. NUTS Wen, I'm certainly glad that M. P., mademoiselle, and Mary Paquette is the new editor of the Notes.) That will give the budding young authors and columnists a real chance at slams and dirt that a lad like B. T. got for a while. There seems to be a gang of racketeers (tennis rackets?) about the school. The main characters are: "Chief" B. T., "Butch" Harold Pearson, "Legs" Billy Welsh and "Bright Eyes" Ray Philips. Burp was nominated to be the opposing gangster. People can surely think up puns for .the Lady at the Keyhole. Here's a suitable one: The Lady at the Keyhole is certainly a large grass "Hooper," because when she goes a "Helen" down the street, she gives you a terrific slap upon the "Chet." Another pun: Wayne Bachman recently put some parts in his Chevrolet. Among the new parts were "Cottle" pins. Ruth Cross' new theme song, "Foulger in My Arms". Melba Bramwell recently obtained a new kind of neckpiece. Rather a "Lynch."-Burp. GIRLS' OFFICERS The officers of the Girls' association for next year as elected Friday morning are: Ruth Dyer, president; Charlie Wood, vice president, and Marian Turner, secretary. The girls of the high school certainly exercised good judgment in making such wise choices for their officers, and we are sure that next year will be another great year for the fair sex. The girls will be in "Dyer" circumstances next year, be it for better or for worse; mostly better. A MEMORABLE DAY Friday was a very great and a very successful day at high school. The school has never put up a better exhibition. In practically fevery classroom there were outstanding features which evoked wide comment and advertising. The parents themselves, being impressed by particularly beautiful things in each room, told" other parents to be sure to see them; hence there was a constant stream of visitors from room to room throughout the afternoon and evening. Art, chemistry, English, history, home economics, shop work, mechanical drawing exhibits were especially outstanding. The girls' program of physical education in the afternoon and the fashion show at night (approximately 130 exquisite girl-made gowns, creations, marvels of beauty) were most excellent features that pleased and delighted the house-packed audience. O.H. S. STARTS ITS LAST WEEK Bennion Gives Address; Many Happenings In Final Days Taking as his thesis a biblical verse from Revelation, Dr. Adam S. Bennion of Salt Lake City delivered an address "An Open Door" at the Ogden High school annual commencement services Sunday morning in the Orpheum theatre.
