"Three Live Ghosts" is a fine comedy supervised by a fine director, Miss Woolley. Pine players have been chosen for parts in the cast. Every student who has a f student body ticket should be there, and if the public and students without a student body card would like to spend a quarter or forty i. cents for something that they would really appreciate, they also will be on hand. Friday or Saturday night; I -don't forget.-Jack Higginbotham. W6OHS Howdy, folks! It's been some time since we have had a report in, but just the same we are going strong.! During the holidays we had a social which proved to be a great success. If you don't believe me, ask Iverson. Besides having had two or three speakers from around town on the subject of radio we are now sponsoring an interesting contest for club members. This contest is being given to stimulate activity and interest among the club members, r and to increase our field of experimentation. The builder of the best radio set of three tubes or less will be declared the winner. Mr. E. Wansgard, our advisor, has been helping us a great deal and has shown a deep interest in our .club. We think he's a regular fellow, and we surely appreciate his help. W6OHS now signing off.-F. Carter. CONGRESS While Clara Johnson presided, our meeting was called to order and the program for next week and a debate for two, weeks ahead was arranged. The debate will be given by Maxine Stone, Louis Lynton and two waiting list members, Marjorie Glines and Evelyn Ensign. The program Monday night consisted of instructive talks on five minute orations given by Marie Bowhuis, Mary Paquette, Louise Lynton and Clara Johnson. We are indeed happy Mrs. Chambers mentioned the state debate. Through a motion we decided co enter the contest for debating the state question. Congress will help pay the school entrance fee. Any girl who is interested in debating and wishes to make the team for the state debate either this year or next must come to congress meeting some Monday in January or February, at seven-thirty. Everyone must enjoy herself at congress as we need two motions to adjourn, one after we've adjourned.-Ellen Glines. DEBATING The fourth period class in public speaking held a very interesting session last Monday. The order of the day was a debate on: "Resolved: Thai! interscholastic athletics should be abolished." Clara Johnson and Doyle Simpson debated for the affirmative while Elva Miller and Mary Paquette upheld the negative side of the question. It was a very heated discussion and you should have heard the rebuttals. Oh! Was my face red! After some very instructive criticism the decision was awarded to the affirmative. I am sure we all enjoyed this debate and are eagerly awaiting the next one, that is, everyone except the debaters.-Mary Paquette. SYMPATHY We express the sincere sympathy of the student body and faculty to Donna and Erma Hardy, students of this school who have suffered the loss of their brother this week. Ivan was a graduate of Ogden High and all teachers remember him as a most admirable young man. CAPSULE DRAMA Scene: The hall, between classes. Characters: A boy and a girl. The boy approaches from the left looking gloomy and sad. The girl approaches from the right. They stop and speak, then the boy departs with a brighter countenance. Come on all you girl scouts. Do your good deed now by asking the boys for a date to the Accolade. Give the boys a break and let yourself in for a good time besides.- Melba Randall. COUNCIL MEETING Regular council meeting was called to order by President Anderson, the roll was called, the minutes were read and approved. Reed Berrett reported that Mr. Merrill was in favor of lower rates on tickets to conform with the federal tax. The report was accepted.
