Show Kapple Is Renamed As Tiger Director Hopkins Reappoints Five Men; Assistants Will Be Selected Soon Athletic directors at the four junior high schools of Ogden and at Ogden High school have been offered contracts for the 1933 season, W. Karl Hopkins, superintendent of the Ogden city schools announces.1 Dick Kapple, veteran mentor at Ogden High, will; again serve as di-l rector of athletics' at the senior high school. Kapple has made a great record at the Tiger lair. The present Ogden mentor was a great all- around athlete at Utah State a few years ago and served on the 91st division football team during the world war. Don Barney will be retained as director of athletics at Central Junior High. The former Payson athletic star has enjoyed a splendid season. Cliff Doxey, one of the premier baseball stars at Utah university a few years back, will again serve as director at Lewis junior. Maurice Conroy, of the famous Conroy athletic family, will be back at Washington. Conroy starred at Ogden High and Utah State during his athletic career. A. J. Knapp, another veteran mentor, will be back at the Mound Fort school next fall. Assistants at the five schools will be named shortly, Supt. Hopkins announces. TUESDAY EVENING, MAY 2, 1933 |
