Advanced Multimedia Applications (3) Sp Students will design and produce advanced multimedia projects applicable for business and industry. These projeds will be produced by combining animation, audio, graphics, video, and text into interactive multimedia presentations. Prerequisites: TBE TE1700 (or TBETA1701/1501 and TBI702/1502 and TCI703/1503) and TBE 2334. TBE 3535. Creating Computer Illustrations (3) F In this course you will leam the fundamentals of a vector drawing program such as Adobe Illustrator. You will become skilled using the Pen Tool to create vector drawings and will leam various techniques for applying color, attributes, styles, and effeds to your artwork. You will also create, edit, and format type to add to your artwork. At the end of the course you will create a project that integrates vector and bitmap images. Prerequisite: TBE 2533. TBE 3550. Supervising Information Technology (3) F Analyzing Information Technology (IT) systems and procedures induding planning and implementation, departmental structure and operations, and the responsibilities and productivity of IT personnel. Prerequisite: TBE 2500 required. TBE 3600. Principles of Business/ Marketing Education (3) Sp This course includes professionalism, curriculum, standards, coun- sding, tech prep, competency-based testing, research, and current issues and trends in Business/Marketing Education. Along with advanced dedronic presentations, this course will include a review of other technologies used in teaching. Prerequisite: TBE 1700; or TBE 1701/1501 and 1702/1502 and 1703/1503. TBE 3610. Methods of Teaching Business/ Marketing Education Subjects (3) F Analysis and research into methods of teaching business and marketing subjeds with emphasis on teaching demonstrations and practices, objedives, outcome measurements, testing, and grading. Computer Animation and Motion (3) Sp In this course you will use Adobe After Effects to create motion graphics and visual effeds for film and video. You will learn how to create sophisticated motion graphics using animated text and objects, compositing videos and images, and adding visual effeds to video. You will learn how to set keyframes on a timdine and work with transform properties, motion paths, rotoscoping masks and dfects, developing a solid foundation in this increasingly popular and versatile software. Fiber Optics in Telecommunications (3) Sp Introdudion to Fiber Optical Communications prepares tomorrow's information system professionals with fundamental concepts and skills needed to bring them to the forefront of the information 117 transformation as it is characterized by broadband high-speed optical networks for Internets, WAN, and LAN. Prerequisites: TBE 2710 and TBE 2720. TBE 3720. Wireless Telephony (3) F An examination of the growing wireless telecommunications market and wireless applications for industry and commercial use. An analysis of competing technologies in relation to network design, equipment configurations, hardware technologies, and a study of emerging wireless technologies versus traditional wire-based services. Prerequisites: TBE 2710 and TBE 2720. TBE 3730. Telecommunications Policy (3) F Explores how the structural, competitive economic, and environmental forces affect the continuing transformation of the telecommunications industry both domestically and internationally Discussion of the impact of contemporary issues on the provider and the consumer of telecommunication services including the taxation of electronic commerce. Prerequisite: TBE 2710 and TBE 2720. TBE 4700. Data Network Design (3) Sp Architecture, technologies, and standards assodated with the design and management of modern data networks. Hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting various network components and architectures. Prerequisite: TBE 2710 and 2720. TBE 4710. Traffic Technology & Voice Network Design (3) Sp Develop an understanding of network facilities and their uses. Telecommunications Internship (1-4) Su, F, Sp Must be completed senior year in a telecommunications environment with company placement and objectives approved by the department. Telecommunications Senior Project (2) Su, F, Sp Capstone project applying the principles of telecommunications to the development of a telecommunications system within a company. Simultaneous enrollment in TBE 4760 is required. Prerequisite: TBE 4700 and 4710. TBE 4800. Independent Research (1-4) Su, F, Sp Direded research and study on an individual basis. Prerequisite: Permission of instrudor. TBE 4860. Business/Multimedia Technologies Internship (3) Su, F, Sp Student works in a business/multimedia technologies environment. The student fulfills at least four objectives and a major capstone project that has been approved by a business/organization supervisor and a faculty advisor. Must have Senior standing or approval of instructor. TBE 4890. Multimedia e-Portfolio (3) Sp This capstone projed-based course allows the student to demonstrate the concepts learned in the business/multimedia program by creating a multimedia portfolio as well as demonstrating proficiency using a variety of publishing devices. Prerequisites: TBE 2532, TBE 2533, TBE 2534, and TBE 3634. TBE 4920.
