Show Saturday, January 16, 1932. This morning Mrs. Rose Nielson and I put a quilt on the frames to be quilted Monday by the Relief Society Board. Did some darning this afternoon. Cleone & kiddies came down. Maren wanted to be fitted out for a ski party and objected very much to wearing black wool tights which her mother thought best. Had a letter from Lucile my sister also one from Drs sister nanie, Thair came back from a trip to Las Vegas. It snowed all the way home. Snowed in Las Angeles about three in. Five banks in Southern Utah closed their doors the last day or so. Sunday, January 17, 1932. Have not been out of the house today. Cooked chicken dinner and Thair, Cloteel were here to enjoy it with us. Dr has done very little today. Junior called late this evening. All buisness seems to be gettign worse. Paine & Hurst Store buidling went into hands of receiver Banks are loaning no money and are pressing those who owe them to pay. No sale for real estate of any kind and stocks and bonds are very low. Dr is having the hardest time to meet his obligations since we were married. He has always been able to meet what he needed too. but buisness is bad also collections and office expense high. He has never seem to worry much until now. |
