During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Wednesday, December 21, 1932. At 9 AM I went down to city & Co Relief to be hostess all day. A buisy day am quite tired tonight. Mrs. Lucile Myers assisted me. Come home at six thirty prepared dinner and retired rather early. Have much to do before Christmas. Sent my last box to day thro mail. Recd a box from Oertel. Thursday, December 22, 1932. Have spent another full day at City & Co Relief. My work has been as hostess to give out used & new clothing to supervise 15 wemon in sewing room. These wemon are mostly widows who sew, patch, make over cloths, make quilts etc they are paid three dollars a day from RFC. Fund according to the size or no in family are allowed to earn 4.00 for each dependant member or child per mo. More apply for this work than can be accomodated so they are each given so many days a month. All hostesses & one assistant give time free. The different clubs ladies of city furnish a hot lunch every to from 15 to 18 who are working. |
