Wednesday, April 27, 1932. Have spent today going over my diarys and putting the year they were written on the outside for convenience. Have attempted to keep one every year but two since 1893. Am not very proud of the way I have kept them as I find a number of years incomplete which was due mostly to the buisy life I have had both in family life and public. This evening attended Relief Society board meeting. Rose Nielson gave the Book of Mormon lesson very interesting. Dr read alowd to me from Epic of America which we are enjoying. Retired at 1130. Dr & Junior operated an apendix case. Junior had lunch here today. Thursday, April 28, 1932. We had a heavy wet snow last night & it has continued to rain most of the day. I have enjoyed myself today, looking over old letters of my grandfather Dudley Justin Merrill written from Arizona in the years 1877 and the following years. He was called to go there and help settle the country with his uncle Phileon Merrill & others. I was but five or six yrs old when the left their home in Bear Lake Idaho & can remember how my mother mourned their going as she and Jed Merrill were the only ones left behind. This evening Dr and I went to Republican Primary. I was chosen a delegate Paderewesk the noted pianist is at the Tabernacle tonight. Junior Blanch & Myrene went to hear him Dr & I have heard him twice so did not go.
