There has been talk about preventing animals from being hurt; there’s even a society for the purpose of making sure this doesn’t happen, but they haven’t done a thing for poor Rudolf’s nose. To get a clear picture of the problem, I must tell you that although he does have a good job with superb working hours (only one night a year) with a jolly man called Santa Claus, he’s not very happy about never being able to join in the other reindeer’s games. The main reason he is unable to join them is because he has to stay near a blazing fire to keep his nose warm, which accounts for its soft glow in the dark. Of course, if someone were to offer to knit a sort of mitten to cover it, he could keep . t warm, join the games and frolics of the other reindeer and by removing it for only one night provide a sufficient light to guide Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve. = Nationalist China will be represented by Ben Lomond at the Model United Nations this year, according to the announcement of Mr. Taylor, the advisor. As a preparatory affair, a Model United Nations Workshop was held December 7, 1963. The purpose of this workshop served to acquaint our delegates with the procedures used in this year’s assembly. This meeting gave our delegates an opportunity to meet the delegates from other schools in. this area. The courses the meeting conducted concerned rsolution writing, parliamentary procedure, and research. The Young Republican Clan changed its name to the Political Action Group due to the fact that the Democrats wished to belong. They have retained Susan Wahlquist as president. The Swimming Clan wishes to inform its members that the clan will meet to swim every other week in the future. Also, all parties will be announced at the pool the night that they are to be given, so participate every time. The F.T.A. celebrated Christmas with a party at the home of Peggy Cahoon on Thursday, December 12, 1963. In January, the clan will meet to take a field trip to surrounding elementary schools and junior high schools. The Red Cross and the Junior Class are co-sponsoring a Christmas party at the Lomond View Old Folks Home on December 21. Already, those interested in the future of Ben Lomond have begun to speculate about these potential leaders of the school. Judging by the past accomplishments of the Class of ’65, it seems probable that they will continue to build and to im‘prove the Scottish tradition of B.L. Thus far in their high school careers, the juniors have demonstrated their ability to work as a unit, their willingness to work as a part of the school. They have presented two assemblies, one minus any cutlows and plus several unprecedented features such as “love”. During the Christmas _holidays, they intend to sponsor the second Junior Class party of the semester. This one, however, will entertain not only juniors, but individuals living at a neglected home as well. . The juniors want to share their spirit and energy with the sophomores and seniors. Perhaps they should adopt the class project of instilling this unifying attitude in the rest of B.L.’s student body. Bivd. Tablecloth at the at Wash.
